Need a little help with these problems:

1. (Solve equation for the given variable)

ax + by + c = 0 for x

2. (Express answer in simplest form in terms of the given variable)

The base and height of a triangle are consecutive odd integers, and the height exceeds the base. If the base is B cm, find the area of the triangle.

--------

Can anyone tell me how to do these please??

1. ax+by+c = 0

just maniuplate it using the reverse order of the order of operations

subtract C from both sides
ax+by = -c

subtract by from both sides
ax=-by-c

divide everything by a
x=(-by-c)/a

2. if they are consecutive odd integers, and the height is bigger than the base, and the base is B, then what is the next odd number? u would add 2 to the base, therefore, the height is b+2

then find the area, base times height
B X (B+2)
b2 + 2b
its B squared plus two b

then divide 2 cuz a triangle is half the area of a sqaure
(b2 + 2b)/2

if u want to simplify, then its (b2/2)+b
b squared divided by 2, plus b

PLEASE please please please!!! correct me if im wrong
