he's worrying me, what do i do Options

okay, so i went to music camp 2 weeks ago and i met this really hot boy that i thought i had no chance with... and so like there's this dance and well.. he so happened to ask me to the dance. and so yah i went with him to the dance n i was like super happy
and so we leave camp...
and i come home, and the next week which was this monday.... he asked me out
so yah... i was like yes of course
and
well... lately
i've been hearing a lot of comments from his friends
like:
"oh u don't have a chance with him"
"oh he likes ur best friend"
and they heard this during camp...
and told me
after he asked me
so i'm like omg wtf?!
and like.. that girl, my best friend, asked him to the dance and he said no... so doesn't that mean something

and then well like i've been trying to call him
and he's NEVER HOME
i dont' know
do u think he's trying to avoid me?!

well, just don't call every minute or else you'll seem too clingy and possibly obsessive which isn't a good thing ..just be patient, wait a couple of days and call again. if he still doesn't answer you calls, then he's most likely avoiding you ..that or he went out of town w/o telling you ..? btw, when you said never home, how do you know? does someone pick up the phone and tell you that he isn't there or is that whenever you call no one picks up? cause the more i think about it ..the more likely it seems like maybe, just maybe ..that he only asked you to the dance and asked you out to make your best friend jealous? no idea. the only to find out is to ask him yourself ..though it's gonna be hard, so try to be patient, if you can't, then just break up. you'll get over him.
