I just felt like making this poll. I remember the first time I listened to heavy metal and I was like "This is so stupid. I mean, there is no musical value whatsoever" And my friends would be like "Ooh, I like this Slipknot song" or whatever and I'll be like "Sorry I don't like heavy metal"
But it's like totally different now. It's pretty much my favorite genre of music. Heavy metal gives you a sort of bad impression at first, but if you really listen to it, it's awesome. What do you think? |

Bodom does own....try Lamb of God, Shadows Fall, Killswitch Engage, In Flames, Soilwork, Mnemic, Kataklysm, Arch Enemy, and Meshuggah....if you're into hardcore, screamo, or hard rock, those bands are probably the best place to start. They're an overview of melodic metal, NWAHM, and technical and death metal...if you like those, I know tons more...
Just to stay relevant.....metal is a solid genre, but I like more experimental metal, and old school stuff i.e. Priest, Maiden, Slayer, Death, and so on.... My first impression of Priest was that they sucked, but I saw them live and they put on a GREAT show. If you're into metal at all, then listen to them and give them a chance, they rule. |
