A few of our members have expressed interest in this feature (view here) so as of today, it's been added in. However, some of our members have also expressed their discontentment with this new feature saying that it's a bit "stalkerish".
If you still don't know what I'm talking about, scroll down to the bottom of topic and forum pages and notice that now it tells you which members are viewing that page. So it's up to you guys. Keep or remove? |

QUOTE(headphones @ Aug 3 2005, 1:20 AM) IPs are like phone numbers on the internet. The wrong person gets a hold of it and your harddrive is gone. Not completely. IP's are more like house addresses (in fact, they are an address for your computer). Even if I know your house address, it's not a certainty that I can break into your house and steal all your stuff. Besides, most people's IP addresses change on a fairly regular basis. This is because most people have dialup (which assigns a new IP address every time you connect), or dynamically-address cable or DSL (which gives you a new IP fairly often as well). Most people do not have a static IP; on the other hand, most businesses and large organizations do, but they've probably taken steps to secure their systems in that case. |
