Wow I'm in a really similar situation. I met a guy for the second time at my friends house and then we started making out and doing things I regret because we went way to fast, now he wants to see me again to go out with me and so far I have just avoided him, but there is only so much of that you could do. Anyway, sorry to go off on a tangent but, are your parents ok with you dating? Cause if they are you could just tell them that he is your boy friend if they ask you who the guy is once you get to the movie theater. But yea I suggest getting to know him first, whether it is with a group of people or just you and him (I learned that the hard way). Also, you say your friend knows him, so maybe you could talk to her about his personality and ask her for advice if her is a good guy to date or just to stay friends with. Goodluck =]
