Ok, so I'm trying to wrap my brain around how to make my page layout get to the place that I want it and I noticed a couple of things. First, this site provides layouts that don't use the xanga skin editor. Second, I hardly see any skins that do use the skin editor (even on the xanga site).

So my question is, why? At first glance it appears that the skin editor would be the way to go, since you can actually move the modules around instead of having to create custom modules to mimick the normal ones. That would have the bonus of not having to manually type in stuff like subscriptions, etc. into custom modules.

Do people prefer to NOT use the skin editor mainly because it requires the user to have a premium account? If so, I can understand that. I just want to know whether there are any other reasons, because I'm about to try and learn how to use the skin editor unless there's a valid reason why not too.

EDIT: here's the link to the xanga skin editor, if anyone doesn't know what I'm talking about: http://www.xanga.com/CLAF/skin.asp

No one uses the skin editor, because no teen in their right mind what's to spend money every month on something like premium. Therefore, the skin editor is useless to most people. Besides that, CB specializes in free, non-premium Xanga layouts for the 'layout-impaired.'
The main reason, however, is that... Well, Xanga is really just a place to express yourself. Most people don't even have fancy skins, they just write, and write about how they feel. For something like that, there's really no need for premium in my eyes.
