..... Colorization using gradients. Or... Maybe the cloud filter.

GRADIENTS ::
(This asumes you have basic PS knowlage)
1. Pick two purple colors and set them as your foreground and background.
2. Create a new layer. (Shift + Ctrl + 'N')
3. Select the gradient tool and choose the first gradient. It should be a gradient of just the two colors you selected earlier, if not... Search for a gradient that is.
3. Decide where you want the colors and apply the gradient in the manner that you wish to the new layer.
4. Set the layer's blending mode to Color.

CLOUD FILTER ::
(This asumes you have basic PS knowlage)
1. Pick two purple colors and set them as your foreground and background.
2. Create a new layer. (Shift + Ctrl + 'N')
3.. Apply the Cloud filter to the new layer. (Filter -> Render -> Clouds)
4. Reapply this filter as many times as you like to achive the effect you like. Make sure there's a definate difference between the colors.
5. Set the layer's blending mode to Color.
