so ive been wondering about this for a while now.. but why do all the digital art help topics go in webdesign chat? digital art has nothing to do with webdesign. the web is just one medium for it. and we HAVE a digital art forum, so why are the Photoshop questions still going in webdesign?
and why is the digital art forum in the webmasters corner category? a lot of people use digital art OFF the web. that was it's original intent - printing, advertising, etc. |

web design isnt coding. web design is the graphics/art that make up the site.
i like your suggestion about putting a subforum in webdesign for digital art, though and maybe moving programming under websites |

QUOTE(Heathasm @ Jul 26 2005, 12:59 PM) Web design deals with coding. Web design includes things such as markup (HTML/XHTML), coding (PHP, ASP, etc.), necessary graphics, layout, and so forth--basically, anything that has to do with a site besides the content itself. To address the main issue of this thread, I think that changing names/reorganizing would be getting a bit picky. The names might not be perfect, but most people seem to understand the general gist of the section. It can be pointed out that calling the section for HTML, JavaScript, and CSS "Programming" is not appropriate either, since HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, ASP, and most other web technologies (save for Java) are not actually programming languages--but the general point of the section is still communicated. |
