a few weeks ago i went to camp. after the first week there was this girl i liked but i didnt want to start anything because all the couples at camp were just falling apart and it seemed like a dumb idea to start a relationship. anyways things just sorta happened and we got closer and she started making all the first moves which really surprised me cuz she was sorta the shy type and she'd never had a bf before. so turned out i liked her and she liked me back, and we just ended up bf and gf. but we only got to enjoy it for a week and a half or so, because camp ended a week ago. we still talk and really like each other but its so hard since she lives in a different state. this is the first time i've had a gf, since i guess i'm the shy type as well. just wondering if anyone had some advice for me on long distance relationships? we probably wont see each other for a few months or at worst a year, and i'm scared that it'll be tough to never see her for that long.

My advice? Give up the romantic relationship and just be friends. Part of having a relationship is being together. Long-distance relationships can work out if both parties have already been together for a while and have been forced apart by circumstance, or if one or both parties can drive or otherwise travel to see each other, but it's nearly impossible and not that much enjoyable when you are young and have no control over your situation.
