so ive been wondering about this for a while now.. but why do all the digital art help topics go in webdesign chat? digital art has nothing to do with webdesign. the web is just one medium for it. and we HAVE a digital art forum, so why are the Photoshop questions still going in webdesign?
and why is the digital art forum in the webmasters corner category? a lot of people use digital art OFF the web. that was it's original intent - printing, advertising, etc. |

web design and digital art are two completely different things. yes the majority of webdesigners have some knowledge of digital art, but that doesnt mean they always use it. digital art isnt what makes a website. in fact, sometimes you are requested to use a minimal amount of graphics.
digital art is used more in printing and advertising than website design, believe it or not. in saying that.. yes i know what webdesign is. i know what digital art is. i know the difference between the two as well. QUOTE the digital art forum is for showcasing purposes only. but WHY? if you have digital art questions, then why not put them in the forum entitled "digital art?" what if what you're doing has nothing to do with website design? i could be making a poster.. a tshirt design.. a brochure. theres more to digital art than website vectors and blends. why not have that forum dedicated entirely to digital art, in all it's aspects, including discussion and help, and then have a digital art showcase subforum WITHIN it? |
