Ok, so I modified this skin: http://www.createblog.com/skins/download.php?id=1233
And made it into this (my blog site): http://www.xanga.com/home.aspx?user=friarblues Here's what I need help with (and I hope you're looking at it with IE, cuz mozilla makes it look awful). 1) I would like to put my profile box, the calendar thingi, and the blogring/subscriber boxes underneath what's on the current site (under the big pic of me and my wife and the blog box). Preferably in three boxes horizontally instead of stacked under eachother (but I'll take what I can get). 2) find a list of urls for all those xanga preferences that I can never find (like where my events are, where to change my profile pic, etc). The main xanga site has got to have the least user friendly navigation I've ever seen, heh. I can post the code to my site, but I'm not sure what I should post, since the only thing that I've changed from my basic xanga site is the above mentioned layout (which I entered into my header). Is my header the stuff I should post here or is there a different code that is needed? And if someone can't do it for me, if they could point me in the right direction to find a really good tutorial made for dummies like me, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!! P.S.- I have premium, if that helps. |

Well you see. .. it had to go before the "<div style="overflow: auto; width: 540px; height: 488px; margin-top: -582px; margin-left: -206px; position: static; ">" code because if it went AFTER it -- those boxes would have ended up inside your blog body. .. with your POSTS! If you don't believe me TRY it hehe. .. just to get a hands-on feel. =D
And about getting the links to the pages you want like subscribe to me, look and feel -- how I do it is. .. I go to the CUSTOMIZE LOOK AND FEEL PAGE, cut and paste what I have in my custom header onto a note pad. So now it's blank then I save it, and go to my page. I right click on the links I want and click "copy shortcut" and paste that in a different notpad. And I continue doing that to every link I want for the navigation "box" -- always remember to label the links though (so we don't forget which link that is >_<). I don't know if I confused you or not.. . I really hope not. It's not that hard!! But here are some links that might be useful to you: http://www.xanga.com/claf - customize look and feel http://www.xanga.com/private/home.aspx - your private xanga http://www.xanga.com/private/subscriptions.aspx - your subscribtion http://www.xanga.com/Private/SubscribeTo.aspx?user=YOUR USER NAME - and this is the link people would click on to subscribe to you And. .. as for the codes to those other things like your calender. .. it's already on your page. It's just hidden so you just really got to LOOK for it. But since I'm already peeking through your codes, I might as well get the job done huh? =) I think these are the codes that you want. If I'm missing anything, SORRY! THIS WOULD BE YOUR BLOG RINGS And this would be your CALENDAR! You can also remove the table tags, and just use links. .. likE I do ^___^ whatever FLOATS YOUR BOAT! |
