i was wondering cause i was thinking about spiking my hair not really long but short spikes just to try it out

*For people with relaxed hair*
Based on what I've experienced, don't use those gels from the supermarkets...like brands like Ion. If your hair is relaxed, then it would be too heavy for gel to hold from all of the chemicals that were used. Even if you're not going for liberty spikes and you have really short relaxed hair, I doubt the gel wouldn't even hold that long. I've tried it and it doesn't work. My hairdresser told me that as well. Trust me, she does african american hair all the time and she knows what she's talking about. You would have to use wax that's nonalcoholic or else it would just dry out your hair and damage it (if you're the type of person who wants to spike their hair often). Unless you're spiking your hair occasionally then you can use wax, but wash your hair after. I've seen pictures of americans with spiked hair and I'm assuming they used some type of wax, but they were models and obviously that was for an occasion. -Court |
