I just felt like making this poll. I remember the first time I listened to heavy metal and I was like "This is so stupid. I mean, there is no musical value whatsoever" And my friends would be like "Ooh, I like this Slipknot song" or whatever and I'll be like "Sorry I don't like heavy metal"
But it's like totally different now. It's pretty much my favorite genre of music. Heavy metal gives you a sort of bad impression at first, but if you really listen to it, it's awesome. What do you think? |

Well, the first thing that I heard that could be considered heavy metal or at least close was a Slipknot song in third grade. I remember I was just like "HOLY HELL!" and I ran off to look at their album and promptly bought it after hearing "Wait and Bleed."
So I guess I was the fourth choice -- "WOW. This is awesome, I can't believe what I've been missing!" I had, however, grown up with the classics (Led Zeppelin, The Doors, Queen, Black Sabbath, Van Halen, Pink Floyd, etc.), so I wasn't necessarily thinking "what have I been missing?", but I was pretty shocked. |
