sometimes i feel bad when i tell my dad i can do it myself ... or am old enough
like times when he tries to hold my hand when crossing the street and remember i'm to old for that.... i feel sad you know he always want to give a helping hand even when i dont ask... like when i was gonna eat a watermelon... he cuts the piece for me... its makes him happy i guess i'm one of the lucky ones with a great dad... so i dunno just wondering if anyone of youse got the same kinda of dad or aree most of your dads like messed and up drunkies |

I got an awesome dad. Sometimes he's annoying, but overal he's a great person and a great dad.
He stopped cutting my steak when I was 10 cause I figured out how to do it myself, but if I'd wanted him too I'm sure he would have cut it for me. My dad was pretty good at transitioning with me into my teens, he was really observant I guess cause he knew when I was too old for hand holding etc. but he still hugs me freely in front of friends and such lol. I used to find it kinda embarrising but now I just think it's sweet haha When it comes to changing a lightbulb or mowing the lawn or buying something from the corner store he often pushes me to do it without his help. Because I'm rather shy and I like to have someone to direct me I find it kinda annoying that he does that, but I guess he's just trying to make me more independent. My mom on the other hand LOVES to help me with stuff like that, but she's not nearly as free with hugs and doesn't often try to help me out with childish stuff like cutting my food etc. so really they are perfect complements of each other, haha, I'm so lucky
