did i do the right thing? Options

well my dad came down to see me saturday and he said that we could rent a hotel room(it had 2 beds of course) and that the rest of that day and sunday we could gfo do something fun like go bowling or go to the mall or something. well it took forever to find a hotel and he had to get one for $140(which i didn't think was bad but he about had a heart attack lmao) and i said is lauren(my sister coming) so he just sighed and called up amy( his girlfriend/mistres-my parents aren't divorced yet/lauren's mom) and asked her to come over. well i thought that she was just coming over for a couple hours and driving back but turns out she was staying in the room with us. and so everything was fine until my dad went to go get ice for our drinks and it took him a long time. and he said it was because he couldn't find the ice machine which is bullshit because it was right down the hall and he had been gone at least 30 minutes. and then i gave him a hug and i noticed something, he smelled. he smelled of stinky wet grass. i should've known. he had his pipe in the car. i knew my dad was a pot head but he usually doesn't do it when i am remotely around. i was furious. and then when it was time to go to bed amy layed down with the baby and when to sleep while my dad was in the same bed(he slept on top of the covers so nothing was going on) watching t.v. and i was in the other bed across the room. and all of the sudden i felt sick so i waited until he felll asleep and took his phone and went into the bathroom to call my mom and i was whispering because i was afraid he would hear me and i kept telllign her that i didn't want to be there and then i told her "it's okay i'll tough it out and i'll be fine" and then my dad knocked on the door and i had to hang up on her and he said "are you okay?" and i said "yea just my stomache" and he was lookign for his phone which i had and i acted like i found it and he checked and saw that i had called my mom on the "last calls made" thing and i lied again and i said i just called to say goodnight. and then my mom called and i couldn't figure out how to turn the phone on because it was a "line 1 line 2" one and i turned on the ligth which woke amy and lauren up and so he yelled at me and called mew an idiot and then my mom called again and i finally figured out how to work the phone and she said "tell your father" and i said "i'm fine' and all she kept saying was "tell your father" and i told him i wanted to go home and he started yelling and said "get your stuff hurry up!" and the whole car ride to my house(which was like 5 minutes max) he yelled it me and it seemed like it would never end i honestly thought he was going to hit me because he's just so voloatile(sp?). and i tried to tell him he could take my new chucks baklc that he just bought me for $50 because he was ranting that i made him waste his money on a hotel room. and as soon as i got home i ran into my mom's arms and burst into tears because i was just so scraed of him. and she said i did the right thing but i keep thinking i just made a huge idiot of myself. i don't know whta it was but they just made me so uncomfortable =/. anyways what do you think? did i do the right thing or not?

Don't worry you did the right thing and try and ask your mom what you can do to eliminate the problem.
