Okay, I would like everyone's opinion on this, even the guys. Next year, I'll be a freshman in high school and at my school, there's a Fall Ball. It's a big dance and it's the next best thing to prom. You can go to the Fall Ball with friends, but I hope to get a date. Plus, it's cheaper if you go with a date. My school is very small, 300 kids grades K-12, about 20 kids per grade.
Anyway, my friends all seem to think that I'll get asked to the Fall Ball by more than one guy. I'm not popular or anything, but I'm not bad either. So my question is...what is the best way to say no to a guy who has asked me? This is where I want guys' opinions, too. I'm afraid if I say no to a guy, I won't be asked by anyone else and I'll end up going alone. I know of one guy that likes/liked me and he might ask me to the Fall Ball, but I don't like him at all. I mean, nothing more than friends. Any help with this future predicament? |

^ What she said!
Don't lie because people might end up asking questions (leading to more lies) and it'll just be like a big web of lies that you can't get out of.. And it could really ruin your reputation. Say what seems most natural to you. If you have something premade in your mind, sometimes it'll come out really weird, but if you're good at that sort of thing just say... "Do you want to go to the dance with me?" "You're a great guy, but I have other plans for the ball. Sorry." Or something like that. Sound sincere. |
