I don't know where this goes, but here goes anyway...
I'm 16 and I've been wearing glasses for a long time and I am really starting to hate them. I was thinking about getting contacts and I have my whole debate ready with my parents and my mom was like...ehh whatever your dad says but he was just...NO. That's it...his reason is that "I don't trust any technology that is at least 20 years old" and it is really stupid. My brother who is 23 has had contacts as soon as he turned 18 because he had the same problem but is there any way I can get them without my parents permission? There is no way that my mom would let me without my dad's permission, and he is really stubborn and I have tried asking him over and over again. I would pay for it myself, but the thing is I need my parents which cause the whole problem. If you are going to just tell me to wait...I really don't want to but if I have no choice I guess I'll have too. |

I heard it makes your eyes worse faster then glasses though...that worries me alot

I try to alternate between glasses and contacts though so that way my eyes can relax. It's pretty bad. I'm looking into lasik eye surgery when I turn 18 next year. My dad got it done too so I trust that it will go smoothly. I suppose it just depends on the person. That's just me. Once you get them you will forget you even had glasses. Everything will be much more comfortable. I don't think it's a bad investment. |
