I think that perhaps there should be a set minimum requirements in order to contribute to the feedback forum. I mean, look at some of the recent feedback threads. They're from people who either have no posts at all, or from people who don't have that many posts. And some of them aren't even feedback, they're just questions.
For example: "my posts stoped going up." "hacker r us?" "stop post the same topic in two different forums" "haha another one" Why should people who are not even active on createBlog have any say on how createBlog is run? If the changes they want are taken into effect, it won't affect them, the lurkers, but it will affect many of the active users. With a set of minimum requirements for feedback, such pointless topics could be lessened, maybe even avoided. (And people! Stop saying we need more staff! Or that we need more staff doing this or that. ![]() |

Yah the feedback forum is not for questions on CB. But the people that just join on this site and have questions and all, immediately go to feedback and think that their questions match the topics in this forum. So they don't think they are really doing anything wrong. They see the "Createblog FAQ's" s the first pinned topic of this forum, so i can understand why they would assume that it's okay for them to post questions. I think it's much better that they post here, then in lounge or entertainment. So unless you make a whole different forum just for questions or whatever, then I don't see where else newcomers can ask these questions.
and the thing about minimum requirements..I don't think thats a good idea. We've only had a few topics in feedback neway that ask questions from a newbie. And they usually get answered right away, and then closed. I don't know if you wanna go through alot of trouble and make a Questions and Answer forum for this site. But i dont' think that limiting members is a good idea. What if someone has a post count of 20, but really has somethan good to suggest, but can't because they don't have enough posts. Which ultimately would probably lead to even more spamming on this site. So i wouldn't worry about these few topics that pop up on the feedback forum. They get answered and closed. Ok i'm done :) QUOTE(mipadi @ Jul 8 2005, 2:48 PM) It seems a bit elitist to say that only certain members have a right to contribute feedback. Post count is never a reliable indicator of commitment or interest in a forum; is it right to say that a person who posts 1000 crappy messages has more of a right to contribute feedback than one who posts 25 good posts, and reads every post everyday? I think the system is fine the way it is; yes, you might get some crap in the feedback forum, but I think it's better to err on the side of caution and allow a lot of feedback, no matter how bad some ideas might be, than limit feedback. ^very much agree with that |
