what is this program, and what is it capable of? my cousin just gave me hers and told me its similar to adobe. do you know of any tutorials for this program?

It's a graphics-creation program. It differs from Photoshop in that it focuses on creating new images, rather than manipulating existing images. You "draw" pictures with tools like a pen, pencil, some shapes, and so forth.
Technically, it differs from Photoshop in that Illustrator creates vector images (which are images stored in mathematical terms, making them easy to resize) rather than raster images (images in which color information for each individual pixel is stored). |
