My understanding is that the "hatred" people have toward the G8 is that they represent liberal capitalism. For developing 3rd world countries, they are unable to have an equal voice in international policy because they lack the influence $ brings. Although this is a simplistic perspective, it begins to explain why so many countries dislike U.S. policies.
Many Americans, including teachers, would support it because of the general notion that the U.S. represents the "correct" view of world policy. (Like a self-serving interest does.) McDonald's in Africa and China illustrates my point. Many fundamentalists get mad (middle east conflict) because their views get run over. This is not a justification of terrorism, just a simple view on why people don't like what the G8 stands for. |
