Yeah...talk about how much you love band here! =)
EDIT// I go to Burnaby North Secondary and I'm a flute player in our Intermediate band. Next year I'll be in Senior and I'll get to go to CUBA! Woot! Our band went to the regionals and got a 95 gold, and went to the nationals and received a silver grade. Yeah. And we also have a half-assed marching band. |

QUOTE(crazeegirl411 @ Jul 3 2005, 11:55 AM) I have to play piccolo for marching season ![]() Anyway...I'm back from my trip, so that means...I barely picked up my flute or my piccolo (same thing -_-). I need to practice!! I go to Sierra Vista High, and we're just a small band...that made finals at BoA (I'll never forget that) and it doesn't matter whether we're good or not, because I love it the way it is. Young (4 years going on 5) with lots of room to learn, and it's actually possible to know everyone's name, though we're getting from about 90 to about 120...so it's a hugeee jump needless to say. Unfortunately, only a few are flute players =/. I can't boss that many freshmen around XD. I'm a sophomore section leader (wooooo!) along with a senior section leader next year (which is like a month later O_o). I was third chair during concert season and I was third chair in 8th grade too =0. So many darn good flute players, it makes me want to play something else...because it's hard to shine (get it? =P). Oh well! I'm proud and I can say I'm pretty good, especially since I only played for 3 years. I love BOTH marching and concert season. Marching season is exciting, hardworking, and band members seem to be sooo much closer during this short period of time. There are trips and I don't exactly enjoy football games, but it's another chance to see my friends againn!!! Concert season is more about music and intonation etc., something I love also! And I get to see my two wonderful and great flute players, one in percussion and one in colorguard during marching season. We're splitting into two bands (finally!!) and I'm definitely going to be in the top band. It's just a matter of being first second flute or second first flute (do you guys get what I mean? O_o). I'm definitely not playing piccolo during concert season, because I like flute music way more, and I can actually sound musical instead of loud -_-. Anyway...I spend a lot of time in the band room, and it's like I live in it. I am a band geek...(kinda =P) and I'm proud ![]() we only march piccolos, no flutes. theyre just louder, i suppose. last year 3 people broke their piccolos in one day and had to play flutes during a competition. gilbert was not amused. fortunately, we won anyway well, we had 140 last year and i knew everyone's name, so it's always possible. people don't always know my name, though but it sounds like band is going well for you, which is cool. i wonder how our drumline and guard are coming along... QUOTE(xsweetxcandyx @ Jul 5 2005, 12:23 AM) oh, i'm always there in the mornings, after school, and at lunch occasioanally, but usually there's a class then. but i go when they're not playing. and i go in during lunch everyday because i leave my lunch in there because my locker is out of the way |
