This started as a picture of an orange flower in my mother's garden. It was manipulated with Paint Shop Pro 8. It took about an hour to complete. Thoughts? Comments?

It wasn't my intent to radically change anything. I think mother nature does a fine job selecting hues, saturation, and clarity. My investment of time is nothing like the time it takes to vexel or 3d model. I enjoy playing with shapes, cropping, rotating and mirroring. That's it. I wasn't suggesting that it's complicated...just fun. It's all about the fun.
By the way, the first image I created with this simple technique was purchased by a tourist from London, England. He absolutely fell in love with the simplicity. He ended up buying 3 giclees on canvas. I made a lot of money from that sale. Remember Andy Warhol's Marilyn Monroe negatives? Miro's crayon drawings? An unsigned Picasso on a piece of cardboard recently sold for $45,000.00. Ansel Adams took pictures of landscapes. All I'm doing is encouraging others to try any technique long enough...who knows, maybe the next Picasso is a member of createblog. |
