Im sure there are topics on this but, i have some new info from my dad XD so trustful eh? He said that a new law was passed, illegalizing music downloads off of sites, programs, and anything else. Itunes and relations will be only aloud ones. You can download off Limewire, except government has put up fake music for you to download, so then they have access yo your computer. When they do this they are able to get your ip then track you down easily.
So i reccomend you not use them. But i have downloaded tons of music off limewire.... it would suck if it was shut down and stuff. Is this true? You tell me because my dad told me and.... I dunno he could be trying to keep me from downloading music from limewire. But wasnt there a law trying to illegal LimewirE? But then it failed to pass? hmm..... and suggestions of thoughts? |

isnt it funny how on the IPOD boxes they are against piracy, but they know if people didnt download songs people wouldnt be buying their MP3 players. its kind of like the government and smoking lol.

You really think that, since a regular ipod can hold over 25,000 songs, people would pay $25,000 to fill it up???? ($1 per song on itunes) That's nuts. Nobody that I know uses itunes and i don't blame them. it's a complete waste of money and if it wasn't for limewire, kazaa, imesh, etc., ipod would be a complete disaster. |

Also, iTunes is NOT a waste of money. 99 cents a song is slightly expensive, yes, but not ridiculously high...besides, at least you're 100% safe and legal. and how do you know people paid a dollar for every song on their iPod? maybe they put some of the songs from albums they've already owned into their iPods. all assumptions... if nobody you know uses itunes...then you really don't know that many people. Your last statement especially is a total assumption with no evidence to back up with. http://www.cnn.com/2004/TECH/07/20/digital...load/index.html http://www.afterdawn.com/news/archive/6505.cfm http://www.afterdawn.com/news/archive/6562.cfm QUOTE Earlier this month the company announced it had sold 430 million downloads altogether. That’s about 330 million downloads since June 2004. If you take away Europe’s contribution of 50 million, then you re left with 280 million, which were sold mostly in the United States. This applies even if you take the Canadian store into account, which launched in December And no, a regular iPod does NOT store 25,000 songs...a 20GB (standard) 4th gen iPod holds up to 10,000. 20000MB/25000songs = 800kb/song...i don't think so. |
