A Process of Appeal for Official memberdom Options

In the thread about the sex forum, Fallen_fairy brought up the point of some members, because they went for a long period before beginning to post after they joined, being unable to achieve they requisit 5ppd to become an official member

these people can become very active and dedicated members, but because they have a backlog of Zero post days, they cannot get their' ppd up, even if they do post up to 10 a day, and would clearly have a ppd which meets standars were it not for the long period of inactivity

therefore,i think it should be possible for members with over 500 posts who want to become official members, but are unable to due to a low ppd should be able to launch an appeal by PMing an admin with there situation. if they prove themselves a positive part of the site by gaining the endorsement of two members and a moderator, then the yshould have their status changed to Official Member.

Sorry about bringing the thread back to life, I must've skipped over it before. But anyway.

Why should they be punished for not posting right away. If they really want to be an official member, then they wouldn't mind getting the endorsements. I am sure if you went away and your PPD went down and you couldn't get it back up, you wouldn't want to make a new account.

Hon, I know you're a camp right now, but you can read this when you get back - I joined in January of '04 and I lurked around until June of '04. I liked my username too damn much to make a new one, so what'd I do? I stayed with it. Sure it took me six months, but I got my ppd up. Seven and it's still going up. If people want the official member status so badly and want to keep their username, then they will work for it.

i registered in the june of 2004 and didnt post until october of 2004 which meant i had 4 months of posts to catch up with... i had about 2000 posts when FINALY my post per day ratio was above 5... i had to psot in 7 pages of introductions forums to get my PPD above 5... lol...

if this rule was enforced ack when i was a regular member... it would have been much easier to be an official member...

this applies to people who have MONTHS of inactivity. such as steven or fallen_fairy.

So you think we will have less members interested in cB if the official member is easier to obtain? Hm, some logic you have there.

Anyway, I'm not big on the idea of endorsements for the official member status. However, if the minimum post count for the official member status were raised, it'd be great since I'm starting to see too many people trying to get fifty posts in one day for the mere service of the xtracker and then leaving after they get the status (which, they usually don't so they keep spamming).

eeveryone does it look in introductions yourself... and i didnt mean at one time hahaha and 7 pages was an exaggeration... maybe 2 pages
