do your parents ever make you, do something you don't want to do? Options

I've always loved drawing. Mostly just doodling. So did my eldest sister but my parents would always disencourage her saying she would turn out to be a bum and all this crap. So that made me to decide to just quit trying to be artistic and to not take any art classes. So I guess one day my parents saw one of my drawings and they subscribed an art magazine for me. Now they're telling me that they want me to draw and paint so they could sell them at the swap meet or hang them around the house or something. They're getting excited about all these paintings I can do but I don't really want to. I'm not even all that great at painting! I think it's a waste of money and time but I feel too guilty to tell them anything.

I think this is a pretty stupid topic. I don't know why I'm making this... but have your parents ever made you do something you didn't want to?

I don't think it's a stupid topic. I like this topic because I know there are many parents out there does that. And I want to hear what others get to say about it.

Once, my mom told me to go to the morning church days with her. But I said no so many times. But she bring a stick just to give me a sign that if I don't listen to what she tells me to do, then I'm going to get a spankie from my mom. GOSH I was just so mad!!!! Because I wanted to sleep more because in like few hours, I'm supposed to meet with my friends. And my mom made me sleep at 4:00am because she wanted someone to massage her. I couldn't take the pain groaning and moaning, so I just massaged her because I was annoyed by the noise coming out of her.

Anyways, the other times. When my dad told me to go skiing with him when I HATE SKIING! Cause he loves it doesn't mean I have to ski too! He even fought with me for like the whole 2 hours saying that if I don't go, then he'll have to shutdown the computer and hide it somewhere. -_-;;

Anyways... maybe your parents think if you draw more, you'll be famous someday. Maybe they have those artistic mind in them and knows that you're the right person to keep on trying. I know you don't like them, but at least try once more? And if you don't like it. Then tell them how you feel.
