Im not sure where this should go, so Im sorry if its in the wrong place in advance.
Can someone explain to me what POP and IMAP are? Im installing Thunderbird and yeah, Im a noob in these kinds of things. Also, like I need help in figuring out which one I have. Thx in advance. |

I prefer webmail because once POP downloads the e-mails onto your computers, any viruses/trojans attached are free to run wild. While... if the files remain on the server, it really can't do anything... but, this is where anti-virus comes in. If you use POP or whatever e-mail service that downloads files straight to YOUR computer, make sure to get an e-mail scanner so you dont get any bad fellas coming in with your wonderful mail.
