cB newspaper/editorial, JOIN US Options

[Spirited Away]

Fellow cBers,

James (MarchHare2UrAlice), Ruth (Suddenly She), Basick, and I are going to start a sort of cB newspaper. At the moment, we have only simple plans, such as interviewing members and writing cB related articles, but we hope to expand the project with your help.

This is a way for you to become more involved with cB in a positive way, other members will surely appreciate your contribution, and you'll be getting extra writing practice. (I'm not very good at persuading people... maybe James, Ruth, or Basick can help me out here)... It'll be FUN~~~~~~

The "paper" will be posted in the Writing forum. As you all know, the Writing forum is often overlooked and this is one of the ways we hope to bring more attention to it. I know we have many talented writers in cB and I hope you all will consider joining our team!

This is only for fun and you will not be an official moderator or anything of the like. Please do not confuse this is a cB hiring thread.

Find the flaws and correct them.
Be supportive of the writer/author
Contribute ideas instead of just throwing out criticism
Help the author develop content that will appeal to the audience
Oversee the layout of each "paper"
Prepare, rewrite and edit copy to improve readability, or supervise others who do this work

Reporter Applicant’s “Audition” Are you really reporter material? Write a short (quarter page to half page OR 6-8 sentences) story on a topic of your choice. If necessary, find a graphic to go along with the story. Include a title. Give credit for optional graphic.

Runner Applicant’s “Audition” Are you really runner material? Find at least two intriguing/inspiring photos (NOT from funnysomething.com) and at least two humorous quotes/jokes. They need not match. Write a caption if necessary. Give credit.

Example of humorous bit:
Mortified doesn’t describe how Jane’s parents felt after meeting her boyfriend. He sported vile tattoos, swore, and just had a hostile air about him.
After he left, the mother said, “Dear, he doesn’t seem like a very nice person.”
“Mom,” Jane said, “if he wasn’t very nice, why would he be doing 500 hours of community service?” American Legion Magazine

I am interested in becoming a staff member because I love writing stories. Sometimes my mind can wonder off and able myself to write stories, whether it's horror or just pure fantasy. I also have PSP which can expand my stories and make creative sensory details that go along with my story/poem as well. Perhaps if I become apart of the team, we will each learn something from each other. This kind of thing is great for me in the future when I proceed to high school.

Whether it's create peoms, stories, and even skits at times. In my ELA class, we are working on a children's book. And my topic is on a little short story which is really a peom about a mouse and a glass apple. And I love weaving stories and poem depending on the things I see or how I feel. I get my inspiration from most books I read such as Cirque Du Freak, The Stranger, Harry Potter, and The Series of Unfortunate events. This is why I think I should be one of the reporters for the createblog team. Thank you for your time in reading my applicant.
