I find that surprising because like...it's Apple. And Apple is really expensive, I always thought they would just give you a new iPod if you sent it in for battery replacement.

But neither this page nor others (like the guide to iPod battery replacement) that I scanned on Apple's site mentions that you might receive a refurbished or repaired iPod.

I mean, they have the MP3 player for $200-$300+, then you have to buy the songs for the MP3 player that you just bought, at iTunes for .99 per song, then if you wanna replace the battery, you have to send it to the Apple Store for $100. Singingfish.com doesn't have recent music, and it would still be illegal anyway, because it's music sharing. And you might as well just get a CD player if you're gonna import CDs. And I wasn't implying myself, though there are still millions of people who buy songs from the iTunes music store, y' know.

That is by far the stupidest thing I've ever seen(and it clearly shows your ignorance), because as it's not true.
You CAN get kits to replace your iPod battery, but why void the warranty and take the risk of damaging your iPod? Apple ranks highest in their customer service. If you have problems, and you're still under their warranty, walk into any Apple store, have them take a look at it, and they'll replace it(granted it's damaged, of course) with, yes, a refurbished iPod. The first post is right, a lot of companies do replace their products with refurbished items. Digital cameras are one example... you just have to read the fine print everywhere else.

+  You're stupid to think that a rechargeable battery will last forever. The battery depends on how you use it, meaning how many charges you put it through, how many times you fool around with your iPod, etc etc. It's like a freaking cellphone battery, eventually its life will begin to decrease over time.

Anyway, get your facts straight. iPods are covered under a year warranty, within that time you may have your iPod replaced if it encounters any battery problems, free of charge. After the year is up, you may have it replaced for $99. The AppleCare Protection Plan offers an extra year after the original warranty for $59. Beats having to pay $99 for a battery replacement.
I may sound like I'm tainted, considering where I work, but people just straight out accuse and hate due to their own ignorance. If you know the facts and disagree, then fine, don't buy an iPod, but don't start hating because of your assumptions.
