How to initiate a first kiss Options

I was looking through some of my old YM magazines for fun and I found this kiss thing. Hope this helps the chicks with the shy boyfriends! REMEMBER, I DID NOT WRITE THIS.

"1. When you're getting ready to go out with him, do whatever you can to feel like you look cute (bust out the mascara or your favorite jeans, ect.). It's an automatic confidence booster.
2. Set the mood early on in the date with affectionate gestures. Touch his arm when you're talking to him, hold his hand, or sit closer to him than you normally would.
3. Wait untill you're alone - so there's no chance of being interupted by pesky siblings or friends.
4. This step is optional. Joke about or mention the impending hook up. I could never do this and personally, I hate it when guys say things like "Would it be ok if I kissed you?" But if your brave, putting it out there can ease the tension.
5. Move closer and make eye contact.
6. Just shut your eyes and go for it. Remember: An awkward, not-so-enjoyable first kiss doesn't necessarily mean you made a mistake or that you two are doomed. In fact, it's pretty standard. It'll get better."

I have no clue what an "impending hookup" is....

That's pretty cool advice if you have absolutely nowhere to start. But like kill me please said, I'd just let it happen when it was intended to happen.
