My boyfriend is in the military and he's going to Iraq in a few days. I feel like I'm having a break down. We've had such a rocky road and now we're finally together again. And now he has to go to Iraq. I don't know how to take this.

I thought I was prepared. I really thought I could handle it. But as the day gets closer, I'm getting more freaked out. He could get seriously hurt out there. And I won't know if he's alive or dead until February. I don't know what I'm gonna do in those 7 months.

I have always been so dependant on him. Even during the times we weren't together, just thinking of him and knowing he'll always be there helped me a lot. And the times when we were going out, he made everything feel alright. When I am with him, I know that no matter what, things will work out, because he says they will.

This is not going to make sense perhaps. But if he dies, then it will be the ending of us. Everything will finally be over. But if he returns, then it will be a new beginning. For us. For our love. This is all just so horrid.

I just don't know how to take this. I don't know what to do now. I'm sure there are some of you with loved ones out there on the frontline. What do you do? How do you get through your daily life without constantly worrying, day and night, if he/she is still alive?

my friend had a boyfriedn in the militarey then he went to iraq. she cheated on him. when he came back they broke up. now his new girlfriend is pregnant and so is my friend(it's not his). moral of the story: it's extremely stressful but if you love the person wyou'll pull through by lots of phone calls and care packages.

I'll be lucky to get one phone call in a month. But I know he won't call anyone even if he has the chance. It'll distract him and then the chances of him dying is even higher.
