has anyone read lord of the flies by william golding? i have to write an essay on it based upon this question:
Kinsley Amis commented that Lord of the Flies is, "terrifying and haunting." Use references from the novel to support whether or not you agree with this statement? can anyone give some help? lol i know i'm suppose to do this myself but i thought you could give me some ideas. i've got some in my head but yeh. thanks in advance.

Terrifying because as you read, you realize that nearly anyone can be driven to cruelty and the depths of cruelty that some people can sink to are horrific. It's haunting because of the juxtaposition of innocence and survival. As far as supporting content, Piggy will supply most of your examples for 'haunting', I can't remember any specifics though, it's been a LONG time. It's an easy book to read though, unlike many classics. Good luck.
