This is a poem I wrote one day in detention or class. I used the ocean as a metaphor for "depression" but it really can be anything you want that's messing up your life, drugs, drinking, cutting, anything..

dreams keep getting washed away
the ocean is eroding all that was left
it's taking me out with the sand
all just cause i could never understand
why it breaks upon this body
seconds left only to say sorry
just in case we dont want it to end this way,
we swim out even further and we drown in our lust and sympathy

cause we down in out tears
we drown in blood that we shed for you
we both cannot take the pain you put us through
and now we'll drown, we'll drown..we'll (drown)

now this addiction is toxic
it's making me go insane
falling backward, the waves keep pushing me away
suffocating and drowning under the water, I can't pull myself back up.

...the "toxic addiction" was cutting when i wrote this but as i said it could be anything...tell me what you think about this.

wow, i quite liked that. the words you used and the references to drowning and the ocean and whatnot worked well. nice job.
