has anyone read lord of the flies by william golding? i have to write an essay on it based upon this question:
Kinsley Amis commented that Lord of the Flies is, "terrifying and haunting." Use references from the novel to support whether or not you agree with this statement? can anyone give some help? lol i know i'm suppose to do this myself but i thought you could give me some ideas. i've got some in my head but yeh. thanks in advance.

It's terrifying and haunting because it depicts the realities of society. Also, just think about little English school boys on an island by themselves, who in turn, desire to kill each other off. Furthermore, did you realize that the Lord of the Flies is actually in all of them and could be considered Satan himself? Hmm. I don't know what more to say - does that help? Maybe if I think about it some more, I'll edit this.
