isnt it aggrivating when other websites get overly sensitive to any sexual references? i was visiting a marching band forum, and they closed a topic on band pick up lines because of "sexual innuendo". they found "Don't SUCK, BLOW ! " innappropriate. we say that before every performance. theyve even blocked out the word "butt". just slightly riiculous, seeing as everyone on there is in high school or above. doesnt it get annoying when things are censured unnecissarily?

grrrrrrrr im so annoyed with that forum right now
![]() i typed out this: "haha, that would be like hell for me. i dont like football. im one of those kids who barely remembers to stand when we do cheers" and then noticed that "hell" was censored out. i thought that was dumb, so i worte out this: (dude, h-e-l-l is NOT a bad word) after that, a mod came by and edited out that h-e-l-l because "dude, on a private forum, it is. filter circumvention is against forum guidelines, FYI -Emma (BariEuph) MBP Admin." but i mean seriously, how ridiculous is that? i didnt even use it in a derrogartoy way. i only typed it out again to clarify what i was saying, since they ceonsor out everyy single letter QUOTE the deal is (and i edited your post, fyi), MBP is a privately owned (as in paid for) and run website. we make rules that we deem most supportive of the atmosphere we're trying to maintain, and that atmosphere is one that is friendly to ALL members and guests. if a parent is surfing the web looking for information on marching band because their child wants to join, and finds MBP full of curse words etc, they're going to get a bad impression. it's not negotiable, and filter circumvention (as in the previous few posts) is against guidelines. this what the person who decided to agree with me was told i happened to be in a rather bad mood at the time to i came back with a rebuttal. but it was a respectful rebuttal, see: QUOTE and i understand that, but reguardless, h*ll is not actually bad word. i can understand not wanting f--- or s--- etc, but theres no need to edit out the entire word for things that arent really offensive and/or can be used in appropriate ways. in the context is used h*ll, i wasnt cursing, it was a non-derragoatory expression i dont mean to argue, it just seems that some of the rules here are a bit too extreme. censorship can be taken too far. and well mark out h*ll but not whore? that sincerely makes no sense sorry, just my two cents this cam back with several replies and official warning im sorry,. when did i "excessively violate forum guidelines?" because i decided to use my own cencorship instead of their, for clarification purposes? sorry, it was necessary. the post now looks like this QUOTE and i understand that, but reguardless, #### is not actually bad word. i can understand not wanting #### or #### etc, but theres no need to edit out the entire word for things that arent really offensive and/or can be used in appropriate ways. in the context is used ####, i wasnt cursing, it was a non-derragoatory expression i dont mean to argue, it just seems that some of the rules here are a bit too extreme. censorship can be taken too far. and well mark out #### but not whore? that sincerely makes no sense <excessive violation of forum guidelines edited, E.C> QUOTE from the forum guidelines, which you all agreed to when you signed up at this site... QUOTE You may not use profanity. We encourage you to use our community as a forum to debate topics, but please use proper vocabulary to express yourself. We have word filters in place for the most vulgar terms. Circumventing those word filters is considered a violation of these guidelines and the offending terms will be removed. THIS IS NOT UP FOR DEBATE OR DISCUSSION. DCP.net is a privately run site which means that the rules in place are not for public change. end of discussion. i wasnt ASKING for public change!! i was merely pointing out, what it was ridiculous to censor the entire word "hell" and then censor it again when i partially censor it. this doesnt make sense QUOTE your recent violation of forum guidelines re: filter circumvention in the "hello?" thread - RIGHT after i had posted that it was non-negotiable warrants your first MBP official warning. MBP Forum Support Team how did i circumvent the filters? i still censored the words!! i was not negotiating, more of pointing out stupidity. when you say heaven and ####, heaven and what? this is not a crossword puzzle! no need for unnecessary fill in the blanks |
