The 10th Amendment, because all of our rights ultimately derive from it. Any other amendment only protects one specific right. The 10th amendment protects all of our rights.
If only the government didn't ignore it so much... |

If the Constitution didn't grant a power to the Fed Government, it cannot have it. This means that there is a restriction in gaining more power, prevent a powerful central government, something that the Founding Fathers fear. James Madisons said this means there wouldn't be a NATIONAL constitution/government, just a FEDERAL one. There is a difference. Imagine that the US Government has no limitations set, no restraints as to what powers it can/cannot have... |
