I just want some people to suggest some of their favorites (I'd really like to see crap like Slipknot and My Chemical Romance excluded from this list) when it comes to a song that relies heavily on the melody of the guitar.
Some that come to mind for me include: Yellow Ledbetter - Pearl Jam Jane Says - Jane's Addiction Fool in the Rain - Led Zeppelin Sweet Home Alabama - Lynard Skynard Comfortably Numb - Pink Floyd Bulls on Parade - Rage Against the Machine Paranoid Android - Radiohead Sweet Child O' Mine - Guns n' Roses Black Hole Sun - Soundgarden Walk This Way - Aerosmith Santeria - Sublime All Along the Watchtower - Jimi Hendrix Add more... I forgot several thousand... |

hmmm....I'm gonna go with pretty much everything Megadeth has ever done, since Mustaine and crew always put forth some tight, tight riffs....Picks: "Architecture Of Aggression", "Symphony Of Destruction", and "Dread and the Fugitive Mind"
Can't forget Black Label Society, either. I love their new album, Mafia. Great guitar work, through and through. My picks: "You Must Be Blind" and "Berzerkers" Other bands: I suppose Cradle can be counted on this list. Take "Mannequin" , "Hurt and Virtue" and "English Fire" as my picks for good riffs. There's The 69 Eyes, with their slow, gothic bent "Angel on my Shoulder". |
