how do u make a simple thin border on adobe photoshop cs?

You can use the line tool and hold shift down while you drag to make it straight, or you can put the thing that you need a border for on a new layer and stroke it. Right click the layer in the layers palette and choose blending options, then on the left menu, choose stroke and choose your own settings.
