How many souls do exist?
Is it the same number that was in the Beginning or can the soul be created? If you create a soul, how do you know it possesses a consciousness? It is not too complicated to create an AI system that would respond just like the alive one. Then when the "soul" is created, it is immediately supplied with the AI system. Isn't it more interesting to live in a world were so many live beings exist? Isn't it cool how their number is getting bigger and bigger? It can be, there are only I and you, dear reader. You are used to by things in the stores. You never saw how they are being made, where they are being made, you just saw something on the TV. Indeed, how do They make those gears so precisely. You need a gear to use it as a mold for a gear. |

QUOTE(Colonel Bill @ May 24 2005, 12:43 PM) How many souls do exist? Is it the same number that was in the Beginning or can the soul be created? Then when the "soul" is created, it is immediately supplied with the AI system. I think you tailed off at the end, so I'll give my opinion on this bit. I think that if 'souls' exist, then they would be property of God alone, and therefore if you are following a philosophy involving a 'higher being' the whole issue of reincarnation goes out of the window; replaced by the common theory of soul creation by God before going to heaven/hell/nirvana/whatever. As fior the frankenstein theory, I think I can safely say you cannot create a soul, it is an emprical and unproven entity that just exists (or doesn't as is yet to be proved). The AI system you are suggesting is and will probably remain just a robot, a machine, and anything f**k you all else that exists, ie. Bicentennial man is merely an extremely intelligent being with no soul. This could however be the arrogance of man, and our perception of what is a 'soul' may have no relevence, as our experience in the matter is limited to one planet. No-ones going to read this all the way through any way and this should be in debate where pretentious f**kers like me can pretend they know the answer. |
