Long distance relationships depend on the person.
If you're the kind of person that constantly needs physical affection, obviously not seeing the person you like/love for long periods of time is going to cause alot of pain and stress. I've been in three long distance relationships. #1 He moved away from me to NY; we tried dating, and lasted for six months until I broke up with him. I got tired of just being able to talk to him, since I was still in school and couldn't visit him, and he didn't have the money to visit me often. We're not really talking right now, but we're on good terms; This was about three years ago. #2 He lived near me, but went to college about three hours away. Seemed like alot at the time, but we dated for about three months; It was quite serious; It wasn't so bad so we got to see each other every other weekend, since he'd come home to visit then. Ended up breaking up with me for some odd reason. We're good friends now. #3 He ended up living about five hours away. I'd drive down to see him whenever I could, since we had just started dating.. Then he found an apartment, and asked if I wanted to move in with him; Been with him ever since. This one wasn't that much of a long distance relationship when we were dating. We were friends through long distance for many months, and lost contact for almost three months because of this... But, hey, waiting pays off, at least in this case; living with the love of my life. :) Again, it depends. If you can handle being without that person until the next time you see them, then hey, go for it.. Otherwise don't waste your time, especially if you think about taking advantage of the situation and see other guys while that person lives so far away and might have a hard time finding out about you and whomever else. |
