The Next Generation Consoles... Here are pics of either protypes or official designs of the Sony PlayStation 3, Microsoft Xbox 360, and Nintendo Revolution. Im a BIG fan of the PlayStation series, but the design of the PlayStation 3 looks a lil retro don't you think? Scanner-ish... I really don't like the design of the controller neither. But overall, It's uh... "sexy" lol. We finally get a choice of colors too! I personally like the black one! The Revolution looks awesome as well, but I don't like Nintendo, so moving on. Xbox 360... I wouldn't call it a console anymore. It looks like my dad's Gateway computer...
Which one you think is the best? Anyways, here are pics. Enjoy! Sony PlayStation 3 Pic 1 Pic 2 Pic 3 Pic 4 Pic 5 Microsoft Xbox 360 Pic 1 Pic 2 Pic 3 Nintendo Revolution Pic 1 Pic 2 |

my concern is about the games of nintendo tho. like as much as i love nintendo they are also shooting themselves in the foot. cause here they are going to offer hifi capabilities.. but are there that many games that people can play with each other. i have been watching the e3 conference now and like they havent showed that many games except the usuall zelda metriod and mario... like they are basically recycled games. this is the only thing that worries me about nintendo. they say they are going to branch out of the younger audience (they are never going to do that).
but hopefully there will be a more widespread variety of games if they allow people to download the years of games worth for FREE. lol knowing that wont really happen. i hope they are free cause nintendo needs to be strong. now dont take me wrong i love nintendo but they need to catch up, but i am still getting revolution. |

They aren't branching out to the younger audience? This conflicts with the "OMG NINTENDO IS T3H KIDDY I PLAY GTA !!!!111one" image that everyone attributes with Nintendo. From what Mr. Reggie Fils-Aime has said, it sounds like Nintendo is going to try to provide something for everyone in the revolution. Nintendo Legacy games from 20 years ago all the way to the newest games. QUOTE but hopefully there will be a more widespread variety of games if they allow people to download the years of games worth for FREE. lol knowing that wont really happen. i hope they are free cause nintendo needs to be strong. now dont take me wrong i love nintendo but they need to catch up, but i am still getting revolution. I doubt it will be for free, but I'm hoping it will be pretty cheap. $1 per NES game sounds fair to me. maybe $5 per SNES game? Oh yeah, Gamespy has you covered on online service. Nintendo Revolution Online service will be FREE OF CHARGE. Coupled with the fact that Smash Bros is coming out, I think the revolution is going to look pretty nice next to my n64 and dreamcast :) QUOTE(nightmare4taki @ May 17 2005, 11:00 PM) I like the design of the Revolution the best because its more portable than the other systems , but im getting a PS3 because they make the best games. The Xbox360's graphics look nice though. I remember when I first got my N64. I didn't get a Playstation because my cousin had me hyped up that the N64 was going to be the best system. So I went with the N64 and although I liked games such as Zelda, GoldenEye, and Perfect Dark I realized that PS had the better games. Nintendo just makes game that are targets Kids. So when the Gamecube and PS2 comes around I chose the PS2 because its for mature players such as myself. Every since then I've been a satisfied gamer. Besides in the gaming market PS2 is kicking everyone elses ass. I really dont give a d*mn if Nintendo paved the way for these other consoles. My heart is so content that I will never buy another nintendo product again. that's a bit unfair, and incorrect. Sony doesn't make games. Nintendo is the only company that makes first party games for their console. The graphics you see are rumoured to be pre rendered. Sony did this last time with the PS2. They showed pre rendered movies, so that the Dreamcast graphics would look like trash. But when it came out, no one could master the "Emotion Engine", and the graphics of the first PS2 games were worse than some of the Dreamcast games! i also think this "nintendo is not for mature people" argument has been overused, and is completely incorrect. half of the people i hear that say this are younger than me! nintendo has a fair share of "mature" games. but who cares about whether a game is mature or not, what matters the most is if the game is fun. Blood, gore, violence does not make a game good. Put it this way, would you rather play Windwaker (GC) or Pariah (XBOX)? Yes, the Playstation 2 is number 1. So what? Sony is losing money on every PS2 they sell. They are forced to make the money back on software, which is the only reason they are still dominant. They got their console onto the market first, they locked in all the contracts so that third party developers couldn't develop for other consoles. Ditto for Microsoft, they have been losing money for quite a while now on every console. In fact, without Halo, the XBox would be a complete disaster. Bottom line: Mature does not always mean the most fun. Games are what sell the console. The Revolution will have the biggest line up of games, available on demand. It has great first party franchises to bank on. Plus, it seems like it will be the least expensive of all three consoles. This is what won me over. |
