If you're really into music, you'd actually know the lyrics to your favorite song by heart - and actually know what they mean! I mean, I know a lot of people who don't even know what they are singing about - that's kind of a problem sometimes.
Anyway, one of the greatest lyrics ever written must be Dispatch's The General, The Postal Service's Such Great Heights and there's probably plenty more. We all know songs are just poetry set to music. ![]() Anyway, I'm here to ask: Do you guys know the meaning to songs that you listen to? If so, what are some of the great lyrics ever heard? |

Exactly.
I don't really think you can fully enjoy a song if you don't know the meaning behind it - every song has a meaning. Well, usually... there are always those exceptions of "artists" who don't even write their own material. I think Evanescence and Daphne Loves Derby have some of the best lyrics ever. And Dashboard Confessional. I'll be living off your phone calls In your letters and your postcards Every single word is like a secret wish come true Who cares if we're apart for the big days It's the small ones that made me fall in love with you. - The Only Gift That I Needed - Dashboard ![]() |
