Actually in history class we talked about this. It came up because a kid braught in a current event about how I think it was two schools in California are running tests about how it could possibly be better for schools to be only one sex.
I think academcily it is better. It's much easier to concentrate. Also, you're not trying to impress anyone or anything. My history teacher went to an all boys school. He said he was glad he went there because he still socialized with girls outside the school so he still had a good social life. He had a girlfriend in his sister school and they went to the prom together (the sister school and his school shared a prom). My mom went to an all girls catholic boarding school. She enjoyed it. In fact, she's the one who asked her mom if she could go. She has to be the most social people I've ever met and can get along with anyone as long as they respect her. So yeah... There are many advantages and disadvantages based on your view. |
