so we had a drug test for all our employees at our work place. turns out i FAILED. why? because i was tested positive for opium. not really surprising since poppy seeds contain opium [no matter how small of an amount there is] and i've been eating a hand full of poppy seed muffins recently. so i was suspended from work for that.
then they decided to turn it in for further testing. they called me back, said it was still positive and that i was terminated without a second chance for testing. WHAT.. THE.. F~ is it right to be fired because of a failed drug test that was caused by food? food thats sold in almost any food market? WHAT THE HELL KIND OF BULLSH*T IS THAT?! so how the hell am i supposed to explain this to them? if it were medication, then i'd be able to prove [with a doctor's note]. but this is food for crying out loud. gawd, what the hell am i supposed to do. -_- |

i did explain. when the lady first told me that my line [for the negative drug result] wasnt showing up, she told me what sorta food/drugs contained opium. and didnt she expect something like that when it was "a blurry line she'd never seen before". i even had her put on my form that i been eating poppy seeds
and yes, i was not informed of this drug test until a few days before it was taken. and i had been eating poppy seed muffins for the past 2 months. nothng i could do about that. i have one witness, but what difference does that make. i could "get" all the witnesses i want within the business, they would not believe me. when it comes to drug tests, i dont find it to be based upon whos excuse sounds most reasonable and whos doesnt. but WHAT THE HELL?!?! cant they tell the difference if the opium was in poppy seed muffins or not? whats the point of even putting that on the form if it doesnt matter anyway? as for getting a better job, i doubt it. they always ask for previous jobs and reasoning for leaving. in my case, i didnt even leave. i was fired for failing a drug test. opium IS in poppy seeds. even in poppy seed muffins. its only a minute, but even that can screw with drug tests. thank you everyone for your nice suggestions and comments. just wish the best of luck for me please. |
