I'm 19 years old and I live with my parents. Why you ask? It's about a 5 minute walk from the college I attend, and plus, free rent. But the downside of that is I have to deal with my parents. I have come to an age where everything they do gets on my nerves. I love them dearly but I would love to move out.
I have to go to bed when they do. I can't stay up past the time they go to bed or my dad will get angry. Last night I stayed up all night because I was afraid I was going to sleep in. I'm starting a new job about 1 1/2 hours away from here for the summer and I have to wake up at 6am every day. My parents keep saying "You're going to have a tough time there." That really upsets me for some reason. Even with school work, they'll be like, "Study! Or there's a job at Wal-Mart waiting for you". That makes me feel depressed. ![]() What I would love to do is move out of town, and go study school somewhere fun, and nice. God, I wish that were true. I also forgot to mention that the other day I was saying to my mom that I was really cold that day. She said in response, "I don't know". They're not even listening. ![]() |

Girl I say go for it, move out. I know you love your parents but you have to come to that age where you have a right to claim independence. I felt that way as soon as I graduated high school. I told my parents I loved them but I needed to get away and they let me go. I live three hours away from them now and its great. I would hate staying at home under my parents monitoring eyes. Even though they mean well, its get annoying especially since I am 20. But yeah, if moving is what you would like to do then do it.
