it had all seemed a little bit too sudden
for he was just a boy .
he was just a little boy of four,
eating candy and playing with his toy .

and then one day he literally
dropped over and died .
and he wouldnt come back,
no matter how much his parents cried .

he was just a little boy
why did God take him so soon ?
his death remains a shock,
reminding me that life's no cartoon .

he was just a boy of four,
barely knew a hundred words .
didnt even pass kindergarten yet .
but now he's up there, soaring with the birds .

i try to see the bright side,
try to believe he's in a better place .
but i cant help but be selfish,
cant wipe this frown off my face .

everytime i see his parents
i want to breakdown and cry .
their faces are so miserable,
its impossible for my eyes to stay dry .

its so unfair that they'd lose him,
they were such kind people too .
whenever i was in trouble,
they'd always do what they could do .

their faces no longer light up,
its been a week since he has died .
everytime i look at his parents,
i kno their tears have not yet dried .

why did it have to be Joe ?
he was just a little boy .
