Bands such as The Killers, Franz Ferdinand, Interpol, Hot Hot Heat, The Hives, The Libertines, The Strokes, etc. have all been referred to as "New Wave" rock bands for their 80's pop/rock influence and their catchy tunes.
Which of these bands are you into or have you heard from? My favorite band are The Killers, but I've also listened to music from Franz Ferdinand, Interpol, and Hot Hot Heat and I'm very pleased. I think I may just get addicted to this kind of music. It's very catchy and fun and even good to dance to. ![]() |

QUOTE *sigh* First new wave, then goth and industrial will come back. ![]() What do you mean "then goth & industrial will come back"? They've always been around...I'm sure a lot of people still listen to that kind of music. |

QUOTE(nyctophiliac @ Apr 29 2005, 3:26 PM) What do you mean "then goth & industrial will come back"? They've always been around...I'm sure a lot of people still listen to that kind of music. I listen to "that kind" of music. In the late 70s/early 80s, new wave and synthpop music were popularized first, then gothic rock music/ goth music came into its own, followed by industrial. All of which sprang from the punk and disco scenes of the late 70s. What I meant by "the goth & industrial will come back" is that if the music styles follow the same path as they did when they first came about, then goth music and industrial music are getting ready to be "reborn" in the modern music scene. I <3 Industrial music. I mess with synths as a hobby. I really wish that goth and industrial music would come back. ![]() |
