OK I have a paper to write for my class Southern Woman:Myth and Reality. I'm going to be writing on the sterotypes and beliefs, etc of southern belles. I have to get opinions from other people that I will use in my paper. I thought CB would be a great place to start. So what comes to mind when you think of a southern belle. Also do you see southern belles are just be based on one race, white woman or do you consider other races as southern belles if they are from the south. Thank you in advance.

Scarlett O'Hara actually...how odd. Blue lace hoop skirt dress, brown hair in a neat bun, white lace gloves and a matching fan sitting in the rocking chair of a wide porch on a plantation styled home, fanning herself while watching the children play in the yard. Or this woman sitting on the porch with a woman friend (dressed similarly) gossiping over iced tea.
