can you guys please help me with this math problem?? thx ;D

At a fixed interest rate, an investment of $8,000 earns $420. How much do you need to invest at the same rate to earn $672?

i have no idea how to do this.. :(

420/8000= 0.0525

0.0525x100= 5.25% interest rate

672 must then = 5.25% to be the new interest rate times all by 2 to get whole numbers

1344 = 11% divide by 11 to get 1%

122.1818181818.... = 1% then times it by 100 to get the total price that is invested

$12218.181818181...=100%

there you go
