i was just thinking about this cuz some people praise/worship some movies even though they aren't really that good.. some of them are even horrible! (take for example "chicago" and "kill bill, vol. i)

here is a list of how i grade/critique a movie...
1. acting
2. plot/story
3. ability to draw in audience
4. story pace
5. character development
6. filming/cinematography
7. reality level (depending on genre)

these are just a couple of the basic ones i guess...

oh..! also, if you wanna put down like a list of movies you think people praise for no good reason.. that'd be great..! hehe..

here's a short list of mine...
1. kill bill, vol. i
2. chicago
3. the alamo
4. the harry potter series!!!!!!!!!
5. underworld (stupid fake vamps!)
6. amelie
7. swimming pool
8. 13
9. swim fan
10. star wars series!!!!!!!!!!! (must.. kill... them... ALL!!!!!!!!!!!)

yup.. that's about it... (i'm sorry if i'm offending anyone out there.. i just feel that people are praising the wrong movies!!!)

kill bill is just so weird..! i mean, yes, there are movies with simple plots that are good. just like you mentioned earlier.. Titanic.. that movie was great.. but not because of the story.. it was great for the cinematography.. for the make up, the music, and the acting. those are the reasons why Titanic was so great. what does kill bill have?

but anyway.. we're getting off topic here.. i was mainly looking for standards that people have in rating movies.. rubrics, if you will.. and movies you that you think are praised too much for no reason... so please.. let's stop discussing kill bill.. it's just annoying..
