Yep. I had that same problem.
I just grew up a realized that I couldn't control people's opinions of me. I knew that my true friends would stay by me and the ones that didn't want to weren't real friends in the first place. That helped me get through it. I knew I could control how I feel about it. I accepted myself and basicly made a personal agreement with myself that I wouldn't let anyone bring me down no matter what because that's not WHO I am. It's just one of those details. I think that's one of the biggest reason people disgriminate and some people are ashamed of themselves. I'm totally comfortable with it and everyone knows. I was tired of keeping it in so I told my friends and I told them I didn't care if it got out. So, basicly, it got out to a lot of people. The next week one of the school's gossip saw me hooking up with a chick outside the mall in front of everyone and EVERY eighth grader found out and many seventh graders. But like I cared. Later, I told my parents. I have really cool parents (when it comes to that kind of thing). I pretty much just came out and told them. It was pretty sudden but they didn't really care. But I knew they wouldn't. If she's scared her parents won't be as comfortable with it, she should probably break it to her much more slowly. My parents didn't care. But it depends where you come from and your own confidence. It took most people a little while to warm up to me but a lot of a girls soon realized that I wasn't about to hit on them or anything (if I knew they wouldn't want me to ![]() It's really not too hard as long as you're prepared to handle it. And a huge tip is that after girls get comfortable with their sexuality, they start hitting on girls that are straight and not caring and making the girls really uncomfortable. You should not do that because it's a great way to get people to hate you. |
